Hopefully  you attended our annual Vision event, this year a brunch after church on February 7, 2010.

If you missed it here is a synopsis:

Pastor Steve shared a leadership priority for the year to deal with creating a better sense of belonging at NCC.  We want to enhance our functioning structures to streamline and enhance people’s ability to become a part of the church and feel that NCC is home.  The emphasis is to help people to fit in the different areas of church life that signify belonging.  We feel that the different dynamic elements that help people feel a part of the church are the following:

1. Active participation in worship.

2. Active participation in a small group, whether that is a home bible study, service team or otherwise. There are many options for this.

3. A public confession of Jesus Christ and agreement with the church’s beliefs, structures, and discipline.

4. Active participation in a regular, defined ministry within the church.

5. Active support of the church in its’ financial responsibilities and obligations.

Pastor Dan then shared the good news that our escrow on the property on Olivas has closed, we are now the owners of 18 acres of land for future ministry and kingdom activity! Congratulations to NCC and all the hard work and perseverance, giving and sacrifice that brought us to this point.

Finally, we share a proposal for a possible name change.  The proposed name change is to “Olive Grove Church”.  All the details and reasoning behind this can be found in the proposal, you can access the proposal online here (Olive Grove Church Proposal), or get a copy of the brochure/proposal in the church office.  At the end of the proposal is a survey, we are interested in your feedback!
