Prayer, Care, Share…

A simple system to reach out to your neighbors.  First, simply discover basic information about the people living around you, like their names.  Be neighborly.  Begin regularly to pray for your neighbors by name, daily is best.  Ask God to bless them.  Ask God to give you a heart of compassion and love for them.  We don’t want to use them as part of a program here at church, we want to genuinely cultivate the love of God for the people around us.

Second, ask God to specifically give you opportunities to care for your neighbors.  Vacation tasks like feeding animals or taking care of trash cans is a good place to start.  Offer to pitch in when they have big projects going.  Take over some of those great cookies you just baked.

Third, after multiple opportunities to care and love your neighbors, specifically ask God to give you an opportunity to share Christ with your neighbors.  The biggest gift you can give your neighbor is to pray for her.
